The Mission Personnel Data records the number of UN troops, police, military observers, and total personnel deployed to all UN peace missions from 1990 through 2019. Values for each of the personnel types are recorded monthly.
These data allow scholars to evaluate issues of peacekeeping effectiveness, mission commitments, Security Council political processes, and other important peacekeeping phenomena.
The data include the mission acronym, the country/countries to which the mission is deployed, and values for each of the personnel types listed above. To allow these data to be merged with additional datasets, the country code for the mission host country is recorded using Correlates of War country codes.
The data are available in Excel (.xlsx) format, and can be downloaded here.
